Egg Donation & Embryo Freezing in Mexico

As a shortage of egg donors is forcing women to travel abroad for IVF, American women are increasingly turning to egg donation in Mexico to provide a solution to infertility. Infertile women are matched with a suitable egg donor by a fertility clinic in Mexico and the IVF process occurs as normal. Women who want to have a further IVF pregnancy later can also freeze embryos created from donor eggs. In Mexico, the cost of IVF treatment is 50% lower than the US offering patients the option to repeat IVF procedures. A recent study published in journal Human Reproduction suggests infertility treatment using frozen embryos improve IVF success rates. Children conceived through frozen embryos were less likely to be born premature, have a healthier birth weight and suffer fewer complications immediately post-birth. Experts say freezing embryos allows infertility specialists to select only the healthiest embryos for use in IVF which improves the overall success and health benefits.
