IVF with In-Vitro Maturation in Mexico

In the conventional IVF procedure, eggs are taken once they have fully matured. In-vitro maturation however, involves collecting the eggs before they have matured so that they mature outside the body (in-vitro). This prevents problems associated with ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome due to the fertility medication. An ultrasound is being done on day 3-5 of the cycle to see whether there are enough follicles for the egg collection. Once the eggs are collected they are cultivated in the laboratory for 48 hours. The mature eggs are then fertilized using the standard method applied in IVF and IVF and ICSI. Especially for women with polycystical syndrome IVM can be an ideal option as they produce more eggs compared to other patients.

A considerable number of couples evade the soaring costs of IVF treatments in the US and travel to Mexico for its affordable, assisted reproductive treatments. Mexico clinics pride themselves as being pioneer in the application of In Vitro Maturation treatment.
