What is the difference between an embryo transfer and a blastocyst transfer?

The main difference between an embryo transfer and a blastocyst transfer during the IVF process is the day on which it takes place. 2-3 days after the egg is fertilized, the embryo transfer takes place as the cells are still dividing.
A blastocyst transfer on the other hand takes place 5-6 days after the fertilization to enhance the chances of a successful implantation.
