Is Endometriosis a factor preventing pregnancies?

Endometriosis is one of the most common diseases in infertile women. About 25-30% of them suffer from endometriosis. In this condition, the endometrium, normally lining the uterus, grows in other places and can be located on the fallopian tubes, the tissue lining the pelvis or the ovaries. The endometrium behaves like it usually would, it builds up towards the middle of the cycle and starts bleeding each month. However, the blood cannot exit the body through its usual route, so that it becomes trapped and cysts can emerge. As these cysts can become brown they are also called chocolate cysts. One of the most usual symptoms is menstrual pain, however many women do not realize they suffer from endometriosis until they try to become pregnant. There are treatment methods available to those who suffer from endometriosis. To find out more contact the IVF clinics directly and receive a response to your questions.
