What factors cause male infertility?

Male infertility is usually associated with the quality or quantity of sperm. It can also be a consequence of blockades which prevent ejaculation.
Problems causing male infertility can be overcome with surgical sperm extraction methods and is being successfully applied in IVF procedures.
There is also unexplained male infertility and specialists can sometimes still be incapable of diagnosing these correctly. Sperm donation can be an option in these cases.
Low motility of sperm can be another problem as oddly shaped sperm can have problems penetrating the shell of the egg. IVF with ICSI can therefore be a solution. This is also the fact in case there is a low amount of sperm available.
