Embryo Transfer in Mexico
Embryo transfer in Mexico is prepared in state of the art laboratories, capable of producing high quality blastocysts. The embryo transfer usually takes place around 2-3 days after the egg collection and the fertilization of the egg with the chosen sperm from the male partner takes place. During this time the embryo has divided into either 4 or 8 cells depending on whether there has been a 2 or 3 day wait. However some patients are also offered the option of waiting for 5-6 days so that the embryos reach the blastocyst stage. At this stage the number of cells reach more than 32 and it might become easier to determine which embryos are stronger and have a better chance of successful implantation. The embryo transfer is similar to a pap smear and is usually not done under general anesthetic or sedation.
